Dear Parents:
Our new class is starting to feel like home.
Here are some of our activities:
· We practiced introducing ourselves with the help of a song and a little game; the students hide on the floor under the tables and when the song greets each of the students by name, he/she climbs up / sits on a chair and answers the greeting.
· We also started organizing the equipment that each student needs - and learned the relevant vocabulary. We already were able to read and understand two simple books in Hebrew using this vocabulary.
· Each child decorated/made a frame with his/her picture to show “Here I am” – which is the name of the Hebrew book we are going to use.
· We are working on writing in script.
I want you to be aware that each student should have a folder that will go back home with him/her and should be brought back to each class. They already have homework that they should be able to do on their own – most of the homework will be a review of vocabulary.
Please encourage your child to review the words they learn – a good way to do so will be to ask them to teach you the word.
It seems that the students are having a good time and are very excited to learn Hebrew. It makes me feel good to see the students practicing their vocabulary and being involved in our class activities.
I know we are going to have a good year!
I wish you all a great week.
