Join the Iowa Jewish Historical Society for a day trip to Union Station in Kansas City on Monday, October 4, 2021, to see the groundbreaking exhibit “Auschwitz Not Long Ago Not Far Away!”
This exhibit features more than 700 original objects and 400 photographs from more than 20 institutions around the world. It is the most comprehensive exhibit on Auschwitz and its role in the Holocaust ever presented in North America and an unparalleled opportunity to confront the singular face of human evil—one that arose not long ago and not far away. Tickets for the exhibit are $16.50/person for a self-guided tour with individual audio guides in English or Spanish. The tour is expected to take an 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
The tentative schedule is to leave Des Moines at 9:00 a.m. in individual cars. The IJHS group tour is at 1:00 p.m. Afterward, everyone can go their separate ways. Some will return to Des Moines and others may stay in Kansas City to visit other attractions.
