Iowa Jewish Historical Society

Anniversary Fund

The Jewish community in Iowa has built a gem on the prairie.

Thousands of people have toured our exhibits and attended programs highlighting the many different aspects of our Jewish heritage. Thousands of artifacts have been donated to our museum – an irreplaceable record of the accomplishments, contributions, and personal stories that make the history of Jews in Iowa.

Now it’s time to build on this success and make it even better.

Celebrating Our 20th Anniversary

For 20 years, the Iowa Jewish Historical Society has preserved the history of the Jewish people of Iowa and sharing that history with visitors from across Iowa and around the world. With a goal of $1.5 million, our 20th Anniversary Fund Drive will:

  • OPEN our doors on a more regular schedule to welcome more students and visitors of all ages
  • FIND new ways to share our history with people in our state and around the world
  • ENSURE that the artifacts we have already collected and those that are donated in the future will be taken care of so that future visitors can see the real objects that were used and valued by the generations that came before them
