Pre-K Curriculum

Welcome to our Pre-Kindergarten class at Beit Sefer Shalom! Children in Pre-K, including 2 and 3-year-olds, attend school on Sundays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Like all of our classrooms, the Pre-K curriculum is customized for this age group and organized into the core areas of Jewish education listed below.

 

Holidays and Symbols

  • Introduction to the Shabbat and major holidays through songs, crafts and stories

Prayer and God

  • Blessings for food and drink
  • The Sh’ma

Jewish Values

  • Introduction to values through songs and stories

Hebrew

  • Simple Hebrew greetings
  • Aleph Bet basics

Jewish Customs and Practices

  • Introduction to Tzedakah

Bible and History

  • Introduction to Bible stories (e.g. Noah’s Ark) through stories

Israel

  • Introduction to Israel through songs and crafts

Art and Culture

  • Emphasis on introducing Judaism through hands-on art projects

Tolerance and Diversity

  • Introduction to mitzvot
